MountainChild Run 4 Hope

MountainChild 2019 Run 4 Hope June 22nd

MountainChild is a non-profit organization that was started in 2009 with the goal of bringing humanitarian aid to the people in very remote areas of Nepal. These people have little or no access to education, healthcare, good farming methods,  or clean water, and many children and women are at risk of human trafficking. After identifying these needs, MountainChild has worked to provide health posts, schools, teachers, clean water supplies, agricultural training, human trafficking prevention sessions, and art therapy for girls at risk of trafficking. MountainChild runs events and programs to raise awareness about these issues in Nepal and to gather support for the work that they do. One of these events is their annual 5K Run 4 Hope.

The Run 4 Hope was started in 2015 after a devastating earthquake hit the country of Nepal. In an effort to raise funds for aid and relief and to raise awareness about the situation, MountainChild started the 5K Run 4 Hope event. Since its start, the race has been held annually in Colorado as well as through virtual races allowing people from all over the States, and the world to participate and support. The support raised goes to funding Mountainchild’s projects such as building new schools and funding medical evacuations.

With a similar passion to make an impact and a ripple, The Skipping Stone is a proud supporter and sponsor of MountainChild’s Run for Hope event. Working together in small ways to make a bigger impact on global needs is an important mission, and one that can’t be completed alone. As Mother Teresa said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” We alone cannot change the world, and that is why we come together with organizations like MountainChild to make bigger ripples together.
